Mini-Process Streamlining

How well are we doing the things we do?

A Mini Process Streamlining (Mini PS) project is focused on making quick but significant improvements to a discrete business process by improving its individual steps incrementally.

The scope of a Mini-PS is typically much narrower than for a full Process Streamlining project.

Goals

The primary goals of a Mini-PS are:

  • reducing time
  • reducing complexity
  • eliminating bureaucracy within individual process steps

Approach

Working full time for four days, a seconded team of four-to-six members is charged with streamlining a process (see timeline at right). The team's recommendations must be implementable within 90 days.
